A BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! A little girl was heard praying the Lord’s Prayer and saying “Forgive us our Christmases.” Perhaps, many of us need to pray that prayer. On the first Christmas, there was no room for the Lord Jesus in the inn. Today, for many, there will be no room for Jesus as well. Do I have room for Jesus? Do our various institutions have room for Jesus? Or do we put up thick walls and say “there is no room in the inn.”? It is that holy time of the year again when God calls us to take time to reflect on all that has gone before and what is to come. In the face of overwhelming odds, both natural and man-made, this season continues to encourage us to keep aflame the fire of hope in our hearts.
Our Lord emptied Himself to change the world by changing people’s lives through the process of conversion. Countless times, we have been graced by Him to continue innovating or re-creating ourselves to be like Him. Through our being members of His body, the Church, He gives us the blessing and responsibility to share His message of courage, love and compassion to others, especially through the witness of our lives. We create holy moments during our waking hours every day. In this way, we help and encourage others to do the same.
For more than two thousand years, history has witnessed Christians who strive to live lives full of hope, patience, humility and virtue. Let us do the same with the power and grace of our Savior and say to Him, Lord, there is always a very special room for you in my heart. Keeping all of you and your dear ones constantly in my prayers and Eucharist especially this Christmas. I
