As we look back at the past year, it is a cry of thanksgiving that we have uttered to the Lord
from our hearts on the last day of 2018 or on January 1st of 2019. We have all received from
God innumerable blessings, grace upon grace most of which I would think we don’t even
deserve. But God in His mercy made us worthy, for we are His beloved children in Christ our
Lord and Brother.
In various ways, we have shared these blessings to others. Blessings in their very nature are
meant to be shared. It is in this light that I want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude
for sharing your blessings to our church through your regular offertory, tithes, and other forms
of donation. My gratitude also goes to some other parishioners who gave their gifts of time and
talent. There are those who also gifted us with their prayers. Some of our sisters and brothers
who are sick have told me that they offer their suffering and pain to the Lord for the Parish.
Through all that you do for our Parish, your generosity, I believe we have advanced the growth
of the Kingdom of God. Despite our imperfections, we have been fulfilling the mission entrusted
to us by Christ. As members of the corporate Body of Christ, let us continue in solidarity of
heart and mind, in our words and deeds, do the will of God. Let our prayer be “Lord, what do
you want us to do for you?”
On a personal note, may I express my profound thanksgiving and appreciation for all the gifts,
support, and prayers you have given me the past year. The best way I can return these favors is
to assure you of lifting you up and your loved ones to God in my daily prayers and Eucharist.
In all the events of our lives this New Year, and in our parish life, may our Lord give us the
discerning spirit that we may recognize the many ways He is making Himself known to us, and
respond to Him with open hearts and minds both as individuals and as a Parish family.
In Jesus, our Bread of Life,
