Commencing in the fall of 2014, a diverse group of parishioners and school representatives began the Parish Pastoral Planning process, led by a facilitator from the Diocese of Honolulu. With the Holy Spirit as their guide, the team gathered together in small and large group discussions and engaged in the process of information gathering and reflection.
The team’s task was to develop a Parish Pastoral Plan intended to guide the Parish over the next five years (2017-2021). A consensus was reached that there are four areas of priorities: Faith Formation, Strengthening Marriage and Family, Youth and Young Adults, and Leadership. The team was then divided into four focus groups; each team was assigned one of the priorities. The work of each focus group began by identifying broad-based goals, then narrowing them down to specific objectives, action steps, and desired outcomes. Each group refined their ideas and all were combined to create the five-year Pastoral Parish Plan.
This plan is the result of a strong collective effort by many dedicated lay ministers, clergy, and school representatives who tirelessly invested numerous long hours in the process.
The hope is that this plan will be embraced and implemented by all parishioners and school representatives to make this great Parish of ours even "greater."
